Implantable Contact Lens
Implantable contact or collamer lens is an option for those with keratoconus who would like to be less dependant on contact lenses or glasses. They are particularly useful for people who achieve a good level of vision with glasses, because they are very good at correcting 'regular' astigmatism. Conventional laser eye surgery is usually not possible in people with keratoconus. The surgery is performed using local anaesthetic drops and takes around 10-15 minutes from start to finish. It is not painful and recovery is typically swift.
